101Shaping a Better Travel Experience

Modern travel often comes with stress, delays, and pressure to arrive on time. Heavy traffic, missed connections, and long journeys can create frustration, especially when people focus too much on the obstacles in front of them. A more useful approach is to focus instead on the desired outcome rather than the problem itself.

For example, when stuck in traffic, the true goal is not necessarily to make the cars move faster. The real goal may simply be arriving at a destination at the right time. Once this is understood, many possible solutions become available. A delayed flight, a quicker route, lighter traffic ahead, or an unexpected opportunity could all help achieve the same result. Concentrating too strongly on one specific solution can sometimes increase stress and make it harder to remain calm and adaptable.

This exercise encourages a shift in attention away from frustration and toward the final outcome. Begin by becoming clear about what is truly desired. This may involve arriving somewhere at a specific time, boarding connecting transportation successfully, or reaching a destination before someone else. Once the goal is clearly understood, spend a few moments relaxing and calming the mind.

Visualisation then becomes the key part of the process. Imagine a small bubble of energy floating slightly in front and to the right. Inside this bubble is the desired result already happening. A clock may show the exact arrival time, or a scene may appear of calmly boarding a train or plane. If arriving before someone else is the goal, picture being there comfortably and confidently before they arrive. The emotions connected to success should also be included, such as relief, calmness, satisfaction, or happiness.

The bubble is imagined as flexible and alive, like the surface of a soap bubble. Reaching into it causes it to burst outward, symbolising that the imagined result has now become part of reality. From that moment, the focus shifts away from worry and toward confidence and relaxation.

With the intention set, continue the journey calmly and allow events to unfold naturally.
