Mirror Curse

The Mirror Curse is a traditional hexing ritual that uses the reflective power of a mirror to direct negative energy toward an adversary. This spell is rooted in folk magic and is intended for those who wish to understand the mechanics of such rituals, rather than to encourage their use.

To begin, gather your materials. You will need a mirror—any size will do, but it should be clean and free of cracks. You will also need a black cloth large enough to cover the mirror completely.

The first step is to focus your intent. If you are feeling anger or frustration, allow yourself to experience these emotions fully, as they are believed to fuel the spell.

Stand before the mirror and gaze into your own reflection. Capture your angered expression in the glass. Some variations of this ritual suggest capturing the reflection of the person you wish to curse, but traditionally, your own reflection is used to channel your intent.

Once you have captured the reflection, immediately cover the mirror with the black cloth. This is thought to trap the energy within the mirror.

Next, take the covered mirror to a place that feels lifeless or barren—such as a patch of dead ground or an area where nothing grows. This setting is symbolic and is believed to enhance the spell’s potency.

At this location, pour a small amount of your own urine over the covered mirror. This act is a traditional element of the curse, intended to bind your intent to the ritual.

While performing this step, recite the following words:

“He who has a double name be said to put himself to shame, and I who bring this prophecy, cursed be my enemy.”

After the incantation, the ritual is considered complete. The mirror should be disposed of carefully, as it is believed to contain the energy of the curse.
