129Improving Confidence and Success in Games

Many people feel they are naturally lucky or unlucky when it comes to games. However, luck can also be viewed as a collection of expectations, memories, and beliefs that influence confidence and performance. This visualization exercise is designed to help replace negative gaming expectations with more positive ones.

Begin by finding a quiet place where you can relax without interruption. Take a few moments to clear your mind and become comfortable. Once settled, imagine creating a sphere or bubble of energy around yourself. This bubble extends slightly beyond your body and represents your personal relationship with games, competition, and chance.

Inside this bubble, observe whatever appears. Some people may notice memories of repeated losses, frustrating experiences, or feelings of being unlucky. Others may become aware of beliefs such as “I never win” or “I’m not good at games.” Positive memories and successes may also appear. The goal is simply to acknowledge everything that forms part of your current perception of game luck.

As you explore the bubble, identify any negative patterns or experiences that seem connected to poor outcomes. Visualize each one as a small dark cloud floating within the space around you. When you are ready, imagine taking hold of each cloud and gently pushing it through the boundary of the bubble. Watch it drift farther and farther away until it disappears from sight.

Continue until all the negative clouds have been removed. What remains are the positive experiences, successful moments, and supportive beliefs that contribute to confidence and enjoyment.

Next, imagine a bright sphere of positive energy hovering above the bubble. This energy represents confidence, success, and favorable outcomes. Visualize bringing this energy into the bubble and allowing it to flow into your mind and body. As it settles, focus on the feeling of being capable, prepared, and open to positive results.

Spend a few moments with this new mindset. Allow the feeling of confidence to become familiar and natural. When the exercise feels complete, let the bubble dissolve and return your attention to the present moment.

Practiced regularly, this visualization can help encourage a more positive attitude toward games, replacing old expectations with a stronger sense of possibility and enjoyment.
