Astrology 3: Beyond Saturn

Beyond Saturn, which is the last planet visible to the naked eye, there are Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. These planets were discovered only in the past few centuries. In astrology, they are often considered to be higher or more spiritual versions of Mercury, Venus, and Mars. This idea is similar to how a musical note can be repeated at a higher octave, with these planets reflecting and expanding the qualities of their inner counterparts.

Uranus is often described as the higher octave of Mercury. While Mercury is linked to communication, intellect, and daily thought, Uranus is associated with sudden insights, innovation, and the awakening of higher awareness. Uranus is also connected to breakthroughs, originality, and a desire for collective freedom.

Neptune is seen as the higher octave of Venus. Instead of focusing on personal love and beauty, Neptune represents universal compassion, spiritual connection, and the removal of boundaries. Where Venus is about attraction and harmony in relationships, Neptune is related to dreams, intuition, and a sense of unity with all life.

Pluto is considered the higher octave of Mars. Mars is about drive and assertiveness, while Pluto is linked to transformation, regeneration, and rebirth. Pluto’s influence is often subtle but powerful, working beneath the surface to create deep change, healing, and the discovery of hidden truths.

Many astrologers view these outer planets as symbols of forces that affect people on a collective or spiritual level. They are thought to influence generations and contribute to the development of consciousness. The discovery of these planets has broadened the scope of astrology, adding new layers of meaning and understanding.

Long before these planets were discovered, the occultist Paracelsus suggested that more planets would eventually be found. He told others that “there were some stars that had not yet cast their rays,” hinting at mysteries yet to be revealed. This perspective suggests that the universe is vast and always changing, and that our understanding of its spiritual aspects continues to develop.
