BOSCAWEN-UN STONE CIRCLE (nr Lands End, Cornwall)

BOSCAWEN-UN STONE CIRCLE, nestled near Land’s End in Cornwall, is one of Britain’s most enigmatic and atmospheric ancient sites.

Dating back to the Bronze Age, this stone circle consists of nineteen granite stones arranged in a perfect ellipse, with a striking central pillar of pure white quartz that catches the light and draws the eye.

For centuries, BOSCAWEN-UN has been a place of gathering, ritual, and mystery. Today, it remains sacred to the Cornish Gorsedd, a society dedicated to preserving Cornish culture, language, and bardic traditions. Each year, the Gorsedd holds ceremonies here, connecting the present with the ancient past.

Archaeologists have discovered many votive offerings at the site—fragments of pottery, small bronze objects, and even traces of fire—evidence of rituals and gifts left for the spirits or deities believed to dwell within the circle.

The air at BOSCAWEN-UN is thick with a sense of enchantment. The circle is often described as having a faery ring quality, where the veil between worlds feels thin and the landscape hums with unseen energy.

Standing among the stones, especially beside the luminous quartz pillar, you can almost sense the echoes of ancient voices and the enduring power of this mystical place.
