Creating A Witches’ Inspiration Jar.
Step 1: Gather all necessary supplies.
You will need:
- One clean mason jar, any size
- A small crystal (clear quartz, citrine, or amethyst are ideal)
- Dried orange peels (sufficient to fill approximately two-thirds of the jar)
- Dried mint leaves (sufficient to fill approximately one-third of the jar)
- Orange essential oil (2 drops)
- Mint essential oil (1 drop)
- A square of black cotton fabric (large enough to cover the jar with a two-inch overhang)
- A rubber band
- Orange fabric paint or orange acrylic paint
- Orange ribbon Step 2: Understand the significance of each item.
The color orange symbolizes creativity and energy. A deep orange fosters strong, profound creativity, while a lighter orange encourages playful, gentle inspiration.
You may create this jar during any moon phase. Select the time that resonates best with you.
Step 3: Prepare your workspace.
Find a quiet, comfortable place to work. If desired, cleanse your space with incense, a candle, or by simply envisioning a peaceful environment.
Step 4: Clean and dry your mason jar thoroughly. Ensure it is completely dry before proceeding.
Step 5: Add the dried mint leaves to the bottom of the jar, filling approximately one-third of the jar. Then, add the dried orange peels on top, filling the jar to about two-thirds full.
Step 6: Add two drops of orange essential oil and one drop of mint essential oil directly onto the dried ingredients. If your jar is large, you may add a bit more, but avoid using too much. Use a spoon or stick to gently mix the contents.
Step 7: Hold your crystal in your hands. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Focus on your desire for increased creativity. Visualize creative energy filling the crystal. When ready, recite or think the following words:
“Creativity, come to me, in whispers and dreams, and visions that gleam. So mote it be!”
Place the crystal into the jar, nestling it among the other ingredients.
Step 8: Create the lid. Place the black cotton fabric over the jar’s opening, allowing the edges to hang down about two inches. Mark the center of the fabric with a pencil.
Remove the fabric and lay it flat. Use the orange paint to draw a spiral in the center where you made the mark. The spiral represents the journey of discovering and sharing inspiration.
Allow the paint to dry. While waiting, you may cover your jar with a temporary lid.
The black fabric absorbs energy, and the orange spiral directs it towards creativity.
Once the paint is dry, place the fabric back on the jar, ensuring the spiral is centered.
Secure the fabric in place by wrapping a rubber band around the neck of the jar. Then, tie the orange ribbon over the rubber band for a bright, magical touch.
Your Witch’s Inspiration Jar is now complete! Place it in a special location—on your desk, your altar, or beside your bed. When you need inspiration, hold the jar, inhale its scent, and let your ideas flow.
