Hex Magick

The Egg Hex

The Egg Hex is a folk magic ritual intended to redirect negative energy away from oneself and toward a chosen target. This practice requires careful intention, respect, and caution. The following condensed guide outlines the essential steps and considerations for those new to this path.

Begin by gathering these key supplies: a fresh egg, a magic marker, a shovel, a black candle, sage, matches or a lighter, cinnamon incense, peppermint or olive oil, angel trumpet petals (or another toxic plant, handled with gloves), sharp rusty objects like nails or tacks, a bowl of broken glass, a wand, a bottle of urine or spoiled milk, and a candle holder. Each item serves a specific purpose, and safety is paramount, especially with toxic plants and sharp objects.

Choose an outdoor location that feels energetically significant, such as near trees or water, and ensure you have permission to perform rituals there. Begin by lighting sage and moving clockwise around your space to purify it, focusing on your intention to create a protected environment.

Dig a hole about 8 to 10 inches deep to serve as the ritual’s vessel. Light the cinnamon incense and place it nearby for protection. Carve a pentagram into the black candle, visualize white energy charging it, then anoint it with oil. Using a rusty nail, inscribe the target’s name on the candle, channeling your intent.

Light the candle and place it in the holder. Place the sharp objects into the hole, forming a bed for the ritual. Write the target’s name and any relevant symbols on the egg with the marker. Hold the egg in your left hand, visualizing negative energy being drawn into it from the candle, focusing on the pain or harm caused.

Transfer the egg to your right hand and recite a chant that reflects your intent. Smash the egg onto the bed of nails and sharp objects, symbolizing the release and activation of the hex. Add the toxic plant material on top, using gloves, and pour the spoiled milk or urine over the contents to further “spoil” the energy.

Cover the hole with dirt, sealing the ritual. Wave your wand over the spot, visualizing the energy being sent deep into the earth. Allow the candle to burn out completely, but never leave it unattended. Clean up thoroughly, dispose of toxic materials safely, and wash your hands.

You may revisit the site to reinforce the spell with additional urine or spoiled milk. As a gesture of respect, leave an offering such as honey and honeysuckle for the nature spirits.

The Egg Hex is a potent ritual. Always consider the ethical implications and use your craft responsibly. Reflect on your intentions and be prepared for the consequences of your actions.
