Free Standing Candle

When using a free-standing candle, you may observe that it often melts and runs as it burns. This quality makes it useful for divination, since the movement and shapes of the wax can offer subtle signs and messages.

To start, light the candle with a clear intention in mind. Focus on your question or purpose. As the candle burns, watch how the wax flows and collects. If the wax melts quickly and runs freely, this is commonly seen as a sign of strong positive energy supporting your intention. Such a burn may indicate that there are few obstacles and your path is open.

If you notice that one side of the candle burns faster than the other, it may suggest an imbalance in the situation you are considering. Some practitioners choose to gently turn the candle to help it burn more evenly. The number of times you rotate the candle can also have meaning. For example, turning it three times might represent the need for three adjustments or changes before reaching your goal.

You may also choose to let the candle burn without interference. In this case, simply observe how the wax drips and hardens. The patterns, shapes, or direction of the wax can all be interpreted. For instance, wax flowing toward you might suggest new opportunities are coming, while wax moving away could indicate it is time to release or let go of something.

It can be helpful to write down your observations in a journal, including the timing, shapes, and any intuitive thoughts you have. Over time, you may notice patterns that help you understand candle divination more deeply. There is no single correct interpretation; trust your intuition and let the process guide you.
