Astral Magick: Out of Body Experiences

Out-of-body experiences, or OBEs, are events where a person feels as though they are outside of their physical body. People often describe this as floating above themselves, sometimes watching their own body from a distance, or even traveling to other places or realms.

OBEs can happen unexpectedly. For example, they may occur during times of intense stress, near-death situations, or while falling asleep or waking up. Some people also learn to have OBEs on purpose, using deep meditation, lucid dreaming, or specific rituals and trance techniques.

In some cases, individuals report OBEs after traumatic events or during medical emergencies. They often recall seeing or hearing things around them, even though their physical body is unresponsive. Others experience OBEs as part of their spiritual or magical practices, using them for self-discovery, astral travel, or to connect with spiritual guides.

Within witchcraft and spiritual journeys, OBEs are often viewed as opportunities for deeper understanding and personal growth. Practitioners may seek these experiences to gain insight, receive guidance, or explore realms beyond the physical world.

Scientists suggest that OBEs might be caused by neurological or psychological factors. However, many people in the spiritual community see them as meaningful and transformative, believing that OBEs can enrich magical practices and support spiritual development.
