Gentle Sleep Oil.

This calming oil blend is intended to help you relax and enjoy restful sleep. Each ingredient is selected for its soothing qualities and its ability to support a peaceful bedtime routine.

To use, apply a small amount of the finished oil to your temples and the underside of your wrists before going to bed. You may also dab a little on the edge of your bed near your pillow. The gentle scent will help signal to your mind and body that it is time to rest.

This recipe yields approximately 1 ounce of oil, which is enough for several weeks of nightly use.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon carrier oil, such as sweet almond, jojoba, or grapeseed. The carrier oil dilutes the essential oils and makes them safe for your skin.
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil. Lavender is well known for calming the nervous system and easing anxiety, making it a traditional choice for sleep blends.
  • 8 drops sandalwood essential oil. Sandalwood’s warm, woody aroma helps quiet the mind and encourages deep, restful sleep.
  • 5 drops ylang-ylang essential oil. Ylang-ylang provides a sweet floral note and is recognized for reducing tension and supporting emotional balance.
  • 1-ounce glass bottle with a cap, for storing your blend and preserving its freshness.
  • Label and pen or marker, to identify your blend and record the date it was made.

Instructions:

  1. Begin by taking a few deep breaths to center yourself and focus on your intention for restful sleep. This step helps you bring purpose and clarity to your blend.
  2. Measure the carrier oil and pour it into the glass bottle.
  3. Add each essential oil, drop by drop, visualizing calm and rest with every addition.
  4. Once all oils are in the bottle, close it tightly. Hold the bottle between your hands and say, “I charge you to bring restful sleep. May rest be deep, may I wake refreshed. So may it be.” This simple ritual empowers your blend with your intention.
  5. Gently shake the bottle to mix the oils thoroughly. Label your bottle with the name and date.
  6. Store your Gentle Sleep Oil in a cool, dark place for best results. Use it nightly as part of your bedtime routine, and allow the calming scents to guide you into deep, restorative sleep.
